Program Title: Food Pantry Support 

Program Description: We are looking for volunteers to assist us with the support and maintenance of our ongoing food pantry at our DC office. Through a partnership with the Capital Area Food Bank, we regularly receive and distribute food staples to our clients facing food insecurity. Last year, we were able to provide the families we assist with over 15,000 pounds of food and hope to surpass that quantity this year with your help!

Jobs Offered: We typically need support on a regular basis with the following jobs/opportunities in our food pantry

• Food Delivery Intake
• Grocery Bag Packaging
• Snack Bag Packaging

Opportunity Requirements:  

• We don’t have many requirements for this opportunity other than coming to our office in downtown DC, being a team player, and bringing positivity and enthusiasm to help!  
• While not required, we do prefer if assisting volunteers are able to lift and carry boxes up to 10 - 20 lbs
• If you would like to support our food pantry but are unable to assist with the physical lifting/carrying of boxes, don’t be deterred from signing up and just let us know! We have numerous other tasks related to supporting our food pantry that you can assist with

Commitment:  

• Food pantry support is needed on a monthly basis with opportunities offered 1 - 2 times a month 
• Times do vary as we need volunteers on our pre-scheduled days during business hours to assist with food delivery intake as well as 1 - 2 grocery bag packaging days
• Grocery bag and snack bag packaging does occur in the early evening to accommodate work/school schedules

Technology Needed: No technology is needed to assist with this opportunity
